Overview

Nitrite HR reagent 2 measure nitrite, which means two different things depending on where you stand. In a closed heating circuit it is a dosed corrosion inhibitor to be held above a minimum; in drinking water or a wastewater process it is an intermediate that signals incomplete nitrification.

Nitrite is the halfway house between ammonia and nitrate. A figure that will not come down usually means nitrification is incomplete, often through low oxygen or a shortage of alkalinity.
