Overview

Nitrite HR reagent 1 measure nitrite, which means two different things depending on where you stand. In a closed heating circuit it is a dosed corrosion inhibitor to be held above a minimum; in drinking water or a wastewater process it is an intermediate that signals incomplete nitrification.

Nitrite is the halfway house between ammonia and nitrate. A figure that will not come down usually means nitrification is incomplete, often through low oxygen or a shortage of alkalinity.

How should liquid reagents be stored?
Cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with the cap firmly closed. Note the batch and expiry on the bottle, and work through the oldest stock first.
