Overview

Nickel HR No. 1 tablets measure nickel, which arrives from plating baths, rinse water and some alloy corrosion. Like chromium it is a consented discharge parameter, so the test is normally run to prove an effluent plant is holding its limit.

When is a nickel test needed?
Mostly on plating and metal finishing effluent, where nickel carries a tight discharge limit and the treatment plant has to be shown to be working.

Photometer grade or rapid grade — which do I need?
Photometer grade is formulated for instruments that read a cuvette. If you work with a visual comparator or colour disc, ask us for the rapid-dissolving grade instead.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
