Calcium hardness reagent kit measure calcium hardness on its own, separate from magnesium. It is the figure used in the pool water balance calculation and in scaling indices, where calcium is the ion that actually forms the carbonate scale.

Swimming pool and spa water balance, cooling water scaling indices, boiler feed water, softener performance checks, and potable supplies assessed for aggressiveness.
Hadron Group supplies water treatment chemicals, dosing equipment and analytical products throughout South Africa and the SADC region. We hold calcium hardness reagent kit in stock, we can supply the matching photometer, cuvettes and spares, and our technical team will help you settle on the right test set for your plant. Why measure calcium hardness rather than total hardness?
Calcium is the ion that forms carbonate scale and it is what the Langelier and pool balance calculations use. Total hardness adds magnesium, which behaves differently.
Does this reagent work on its own?
Several photometric methods use two or three reagents in sequence. Check which components your method lists, and we will make sure the set is complete before it ships.
How should liquid reagents be stored?
Cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with the cap firmly closed. Note the batch and expiry on the bottle, and work through the oldest stock first.
