Can I use this to check a water softener?
Yes. A softened stream should read close to zero hardness, and a rising figure is the usual sign that the resin needs regenerating.

Does this reagent work on its own?
Several photometric methods use two or three reagents in sequence. Check which components your method lists, and we will make sure the set is complete before it ships.

How should liquid reagents be stored?
Cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with the cap firmly closed. Note the batch and expiry on the bottle, and work through the oldest stock first.
