EDTA tablets complex metal ions that would otherwise interfere with a colorimetric test, most often iron, copper or manganese in a hard or metal-bearing water. Adding one removes the false reading rather than changing the parameter you are after.

What does an EDTA tablet actually do?
It chelates interfering metal ions, holding them in a form that no longer takes part in the colour reaction, so the result reflects only the parameter being measured.

Which grade is this tablet?
This is the supplier’s TC grade of the reagent. If you need the photometer or rapid-dissolving grade of the same parameter, tell us which instrument you use and we will confirm the right one.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
