Sulphite HR No. 2 tablets measure sulphite, the oxygen scavenger dosed into boiler feed water to mop up the last traces of dissolved oxygen before they pit the tubes. Holding a sulphite residual in the boiler is the routine proof that the scavenger dose is adequate.

Why hold a sulphite residual?
A residual proves there is scavenger left over after all the dissolved oxygen has been consumed. Without it you cannot tell whether the dose was sufficient or merely close.

Which grade is this tablet?
This is the supplier’s TC grade of the reagent. If you need the photometer or rapid-dissolving grade of the same parameter, tell us which instrument you use and we will confirm the right one.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
