Iron HR tablets measure dissolved and total iron, the metal behind red water complaints, staining on sanitaryware and fouling on membranes and resin beds. Borehole supplies in particular carry iron in the reduced form, which stays invisible until it meets air and then drops out as rust-coloured floc.

Why does my borehole water only go brown after standing?
Groundwater often carries iron in the dissolved ferrous form, which is colourless. Once it meets air it oxidises to ferric iron and drops out as the familiar rust-coloured floc.
Photometer grade or rapid grade — which do I need?
Photometer grade is formulated for instruments that read a cuvette. If you work with a visual comparator or colour disc, ask us for the rapid-dissolving grade instead.
How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
