Alkalinity-M HR tablets measure total (M) alkalinity, the buffering capacity that decides how far a water lets its pH move when acid or alkali is added. On a dosing plant that matters twice over: low alkalinity makes pH control unstable and chases the dose valve, while a high figure makes correction expensive.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between M and P alkalinity?
M (total) alkalinity is read to the methyl orange end point and covers bicarbonate, carbonate and hydroxide. P alkalinity is read to the phenolphthalein end point and covers only the carbonate and hydroxide portion.

Photometer grade or rapid grade — which do I need?
Photometer grade is formulated for instruments that read a cuvette. If you work with a visual comparator or colour disc, ask us for the rapid-dissolving grade instead.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
