Manganese VLR No. 1 tablets measure manganese, iron’s companion in groundwater and the cause of black staining, dirty water complaints and the deposits that build up quietly inside a distribution main. It is harder to oxidise than iron, so a plant that removes iron cleanly may still pass manganese.

Frequently asked questions

Why does manganese get through when iron does not?
Manganese needs a higher oxidation potential and usually a higher pH than iron. Plant that oxidises iron adequately will often still let manganese pass.

Photometer grade or rapid grade — which do I need?
Photometer grade is formulated for instruments that read a cuvette. If you work with a visual comparator or colour disc, ask us for the rapid-dissolving grade instead.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
