Description

Overview

Copper No. 1 tablets measure copper, which reaches a water either from corroding pipework or from dosed algaecides. In a pool it stains surfaces and turns blonde hair green; in a potable system a rising copper figure points at aggressive water attacking the plumbing.

Key features

  • Reads copper from corrosion or from dosed algaecide
  • One tablet per test, so there is no measuring or decanting of liquid reagents
  • Foil-sealed strips keep unused tablets dry until they are needed
  • Supplied in the standard 250-tablet pack, item code TbsHCu1250

Frequently asked questions

What does a rising copper reading tell me?
Where copper is not being dosed, it usually means the water is aggressive enough to attack copper pipework — normally a low pH, low alkalinity or high carbon dioxide problem.

Photometer grade or rapid grade — which do I need?
Photometer grade is formulated for instruments that read a cuvette. If you work with a visual comparator or colour disc, ask us for the rapid-dissolving grade instead.

How should the tablets be stored?
Keep them sealed, cool and dry, and work through the oldest strip first. Once a strip is opened the tablets take up moisture, so use them promptly.
