Chlorine HR reagent 1 measure chlorine at concentrations well above the normal residual band, using the iodometric route rather than DPD. This is the test for dosing solutions, shock treatments and hypochlorite strength, where a standard residual reagent would simply bleach out.

Hypochlorite dosing solution strength, superchlorination and shock dosing, disinfection of new mains and reservoirs, and bulk chemical acceptance checks.
Hadron Group supplies water treatment chemicals, dosing equipment and analytical products throughout South Africa and the SADC region. We hold chlorine HR reagent 1 in stock, we can supply the matching photometer, cuvettes and spares, and our technical team will help you settle on the right test set for your plant. Why not use a DPD reagent at high chlorine levels?
DPD bleaches at high concentrations and can read low or blank. The high-range iodide method is designed for those levels and gives a reliable figure.
Does this reagent work on its own?
Several photometric methods use two or three reagents in sequence. Check which components your method lists, and we will make sure the set is complete before it ships.
How should liquid reagents be stored?
Cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with the cap firmly closed. Note the batch and expiry on the bottle, and work through the oldest stock first.
